PETERBOROUGH have been forced to call off tonight’s crunch Elite League clash with play-off rivals Coventry.
The East of England Showground track is under several inches of water after torrential overnight rain.
The next home meeting for the Readypower Panthers is on Friday (August 27) when Swindon are the Elite League visitors.
Team boss Trevor Swales said: “The track is flooded after the heavy rain that was forecast came along. After talking with our track curator Dean Wyers we have to accept there is no chance of repairing the damage today. The forecast is for yet more rain and if it proves to be accurate we won’t get a dry spell until this afternoon.
“We are now looking for a new date for a meeting that could have a vital bearing on the play-off qualificatiion.”
