A crew from the East of England Ambulance Trust were called to Defoe Road in Ipswich at 4.45am on New Year's Day to reports that someone had fallen off a balcony.
However when they arrived, a fight broke out involving a gang of people in which some paramedics were attacked. The crew members suffered minor injuries.
Police were called by the ambulance trust for back up and when they arrived, officers were also assaulted.
A person injured in the incident was taken to Ipswich Hospital and was conscious and breathing.
A Suffolk Police spokesman said: “We had a call from the ambulance service to say that someone had fallen from a balcony but that was not the case when we got there.

“There was a bit of a disturbance. Two people were arrested.”
A spokesman from the East of England Ambulance Trust said: “The crew suffered minor injuries from the assault. We conveyed one person to hospital who was conscious and breathing.”
Two people were arrested at the scene. One was released later without charge, and the other, a 17-year-old girl from Ipswich was charged with assaulting a police officer and causing affray.
She is set to appear at Ipswich Youth Court on Thursday January 8.
It was just one of the incidents that made New Year's Eve a busy one for the emergency services in Suffolk.
Police made numerous arrests while paramedics treated several people for injuries and over excess in Suffolk during the early hours of New Year's Day.
Inspector Jim Gooding of Suffolk police said that despite the number of detentions, officers were fully prepared.
He said: “We had arrests overnight for all sorts of reasons including the usual public order incidents and drunkenness. “We were busy as expected but nothing out of the ordinary happened.”
At 1.45am, a 24-year-old man was taken to Ipswich hospital with back pain after a fight broke out in Daimler Road and at around 1am paramedics were called following a fight outside Barclay's Bank in Princes Street. A 20-year-old man was given first aid.
At 1.30am a 17-year-old male was treated for facial injuries following an assault in Poppy Close.
Three people also required the assistance of paramedics after drinking too much - a 16 and 17-year-old male, and a 33-year-old female in Foxhall Road.
