Next Spring’s Chelsea Flower Show will feature a slice of Suffolk, after a Saxmundham garden designer was selected to exhibit.

It will be Frederic Whyte’s third appearance at the RHS show – this time with ‘A Suffolk Retreat’ – designed using local materials, plants and crafts.

During the four-day show, his garden will promote the work of Leiston-based music and educational charity, Pro Corda.

Mr Whyte said: “The garden raises awareness for an exceptional cause, whose work gives children and young adults, including those with special educational needs, an opportunity social and personal development through musical training.”

Mr Whyte won a gold medal in 2013. His ‘Magna Carta 800 Garden’ for Amnesty International won a Silver Gilt Medal this year.
