A man appeared in court today charged with inciting a minor to engage in sexual activity and making an indecent photograph of a child.

Paul Fitsell, 34, of Platers Walk, Leiston was charged on December 7 after messages he sent, using a pseudonym, to a 15-year-old were found on the teen’s phone.

He pleaded guilty to both counts, but added from the dock that he did not know the victim was under 16 until police told him.

Suffolk Magistrates Court heard that Fitsell sent sexually explicit text messages, including photographs of his genitalia to the victim and urged the child to send him naked photographs.

The court also heard that the child’s school uniform was visible in a photograph he viewed.

Fitsell admitted he used Kik and Snapchat to talk to females and that he did send messages to the victim between April 9, 2017 and May 8, 2017.

Magistrates granted Fitsell bail on the condition that he does not contact the victim or enter the area the victim lives.
