FIREFIGHTERS have tackled a blaze that virtually destroyed a sports pavilion in a park.
The fire was reported at the pavilion in a park off Normanston Drive, Lowestoft, at about 9pm this evening and three crews were sent to the scene.
The flames were out within half an hour but firefighters stayed at the scene to dampen down the area.
The fire is thought to have started in the roof of the single storey building and destroyed about 80 per cent of the site.
