A WOMAN was taken to hospital following a collision with a Ford Mondeo as she crossed a road.

Police and an ambulance crew were called to Market Hill in Clare after receiving reports that a pedestrian had collided with the car at about 3.15pm yesterday.

The road was closed in both directions for more than an hour to allow paramedics to treat the woman at the scene before she was taken to West Suffolk Hospital for further treatment to her injuries.

A police spokesman said the woman's injuries were not life threatening or too serious.

The road was re-opened to traffic at 4.20pm.
