A group of pedestrians were seen walking along the A14 early this morning, with one reportedly hit by a lorry.

Police carried out extensive searches of the area between Higham and Kentford junctions, after reports were made by several members of the public who said the pedestrians were walking in the westbound carriageway, dressed in dark clothing, at about 5am.

A lorry driver also called police to say they may have clipped one of the group with their vehicle.

The search failed to find anyone injured in the collision.

Officers are keen to speak with the driver of the lorry, with anyone who may have seen the people walking in the area or who saw a collision. Anyone with information is asked to contact the roads policing unit at Suffolk Constabulary on 101.
