A PENSIONER died today after she was in collision with a car in an Essex town.
The 79-year-old was walking in Park Way, Chelmsford, close to its junction with Rainsford Road, at around 10.50am.
A spokeswoman for Essex Police said she was in collision with a red Seat Alhambra - which is similar to a Ford Galaxy.
The pensioner - who has not been identified - was taken to Broomfield Hospital but died from her injuries.
Police are appealing for information and would particularly like to speak to the occupants of a white scaffold van or lorry who may have information about the accident.
Anyone who thinks they can help should call 0300 333 4444.
