SUFFOLK: An ill 76-year-old woman had to be rescued from a cruise ship off the coast of Felixstowe and transported to Ipswich Hospital.
Thames Coastguard received a call at 9.40pm last night to help co-ordinate a medical evacuation of the woman passenger aboard the cruise ship, Braemar, which was situated 32 miles off the Felixstowe coast, on route to Norway.
The woman, who was suffering from unstable angina, was transferred by the RAF Rescue Helicopter based at Wattisham to a landing site. They were met by the Felixstowe Coastguard and then the patient transferred to Ipswich Hospital by ambulance.
