A person has died after being struck by a train on a Suffolk railway line last night.

Police received reports of an incident in Stowmarket at around 11.25am.

Greater Anglia’s late services on the London to Norwich mainline were delayed by up to three hours, as a result of the incident.

Several services were terminated early in Ipswich and did not call at Stowmarket, Diss or Norwich.

British Transport Police has been contacted for further information.
