POLICE in Braintree have issued a photograph of a man they want to question in relation to a cannabis factory.

The drug operation was discovered after the owners of a house - who had rented the Clare Road property out - returned to check it on May 23.

On their arrival, an Asian man fled the scene and when they entered the building they found that two of its three bedrooms were being used to grow cannabis, with 129 plants in the house.

Yesterday Ds Gary Robinson said: “Our inquiries are progressing, and we now believe that the individual in the photograph was the man who fled when the owners arrived.

“I would urge anyone who recognises him, or who saw any suspicious activity at the location between April 23 and May 23, while the property was rented out, to contact me.”

Detectives are appealing for anyone who can identify the man pictured in the photograph to contact Ds Robinson or Pc Nikki Simpson of Braintree Police on 0300 3334444 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
