Plans to rebuild a cycle shop which was destroyed by fire in Bury St Edmunds have been deferred by councillors.
Cycle King, on Angel Hill, was gutted by the blaze in September 2017, which was tackled by more than 60 firefighters.
The blaze also damaged neighbouring properties The One Bull pub and Francela restaurant, and a structural investigation determined Cycle King would require a complete rebuild.
MORE: Plans to rebuild cycle shop to go before councilProposals for a ground floor retail unit and four flats on the first and second floor at 26 Angel Hill went before St Edmundsbury Borough Council’s development control committee on Thursday, January 3.
The decision was deferred to enable amendments, including a revised bin store within an enclosure, to explore the potential for changing the second floor layout, and to explore the potential for a screen close to The One Bull private garden.
Evolution Town Planning, on behalf of One Bull pub owners David and Roxanne Marjoram, had raised concerns about the application.
