PETERBOROUGH head south to Poole Wednesday night looking to get their play-off challenge back on track.

The Pirates are already assured of their place in the end-of-season Elite League Championship shoot-out, but the Panthers still have work to do following Monday night’s home defeat against Eastbourne.

The Dorset club are riding high at the top of the table fourteen points clear of current Champions Wolverhampton and are unbeaten at their Wimborne Road track in 2010.

It will be a tough task to bring that run to an end, but Peterborough team boss Trevor Swales is still asking for a big performance from his team.

He said: “Monday was a poor performance, but it’s important we learn from that.

“We have some important meetings this week in the context of the play-offs and I’m looking for a positive response after what happened against Eastbourne.

“Poole are going well at the top of the table and will be extremely tough opposition on their own track, but I’m looking for us to go there and produce a good performance.”

Both teams are reported to be at full-strength for a clash that many still believe could be a dress rehearsal for next month’s Play-Off Final.
