Two separate points failures led to the cancellation of trains travelling through several main line stations this morning.
The first happened at Great Yarmouth, leading to cancellations and subsequent delays on trains between Ipswich and Lowestoft, Norwich and Lowestoft, and Norwich and Great Yarmouth.
A second points failure at Chelmsford led first to cancellations and then residual delays on trains calling at Ipswich, Manningtree, Colchester, Marks Tey, Kelvedon, Witham, Hatfield Peverel, Chelmsford, Shenfield and Stratford.
Abellio Greater Anglia apologised for the disruption and said services were returning to normal, but that some trains may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised.
