Police appeal after car hits house

WITNESSES are being sought after a house was damaged when a car crashed into it.

WITNESSES are being sought after a house was damaged when a car crashed into it.

The smash happened in Market Hill, Maldon, on Sunday when a burgundy BMW 3 Series Compact hit the property, damaging the windows and rendering.

The driver left the scene immediately after the 7.15pm accident and police are anxious to trace them.

Invesitgating officer Pc Christopher Philpott said: “Significant damage has been caused to the timber-framed house.

“The vehicle was a burgundy BMW 3 series compact which is a car with a distinctive cut-off shape at the rear.”

Police are particularly appealing for anyone who has seen this vehicle, either before the collision or after it had sustained damage to contact them at Maldon police station on 0300 333 4444.
