Police are appealing for witnesses following an aggravated burglary in Clacton involving five men armed with what is believed to be knives.

It happened in Buick Avenue shortly before 12.45am today when the men are reported to have forced entry into a house through a front window.

They have locked themselves in an internal room before leaving the property.

No one was injured and nothing was stolen. Officers believe this to be an isolated incident.

Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact Clacton CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
