Officers investigating a serious assault on man in Clacton are appealing for information.

A 69-year-old man was assaulted shortly after 11.30pm on September 2 while walking to a newsagent in Penfold Road.

The man was knocked to the floor from behind by an unknown person, causing serious injuries to the victim’s head and leg.

No property was taken from the victim.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has anyone information is asked to contact CD Dave Brooks at Clacton CID on 101.
