Police appeal for witnesses after crash

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist was thrown off his bike in a crash on the A12 at Colchester.The 17-year-old motorcyclist from the Colchester area was travelling along the northbound carriageway of the A12 at Kelvedon at about 11pm when his yellow Aprilia bike was in collision with a car, which failed to stop at the scene.

The 17-year-old motorcyclist from the Colchester area was travelling along the northbound carriageway of the A12 at Kelvedon at about 11pm when his yellow Aprilia bike was in collision with a car, which failed to stop at the scene.

He was thrown from the bike and was taken to Colchester General Hospital with injuries.

Police believe the bike was carried on or under the car for nearly a mile down the road and then left in a lay by.
