Suffolk Constabulary is appealing for witnesses after the body of a woman was found in the River Waveney yesterday.

A police spokesperson said that they were called at around 2.35pm on March 14 to reports that a member of the public had found the body of a woman in the River Waveney in Northgate in Beccles.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained by police.

It is not thought to be suspicious at this time.

Detectives are hoping to hear from any witnesses who may have seen a 50-year-old woman in the area of the River Waveney in Beccles yesterday afternoon between 1pm and 3pm.

Those with information can call Suffolk police on 101 quoting CAD number 238 of March 14.
