Police appeal after burglary

Police in Essex have arrested a man following a stabbing which happened in Chelmsford yesterday afternoon.

A man in his 20s was stabbed in the upper body after an altercation with five men at a playground between Fifth Avenue and Arun Close sometime between 2pm and 3pm.

Late last night, investigating officers arrested a 55-year-old man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

He is currently being questioned by officers.

After the incident, the victim made his way towards Anglia Ruskin University where he then collapsed.

He was treated by ambulance crews and flown to hospital by air ambulance, where he has since been released.
