POLICE are not taking any further action following reports of a man carrying a knife in Capel St Mary.
Several police cars and the force helicopter attended the scene in The Street at 1.40pm yesterdaywhere it was believed a man was carrying a knife in the Co-op store. The man reportedly ran off without any shoes on.
Capel resident David Beeching, who saw the drama unfold from a parking bay opposite the Co-op, said: “I heard there was a fight and that someone had pulled a knife out. I don't think it was used before he ran off.
“There was a police car parked in a bay in Thorney Road and two more cars at the back entrance to the school behind the Co-op.”
A spokeswoman for Suffolk Police said today: “There was no offence committed so we are not taking any further action.”
