More than 50 drivers are set to be prosecuted for speeding and driving offences following a gathering of boy racers in Maldon, Essex over the weekend.
Police officers from Essex Police’s casualty reduction section and road policing units attended the gathering on Friday evening.
A total of 51 drivers were seen committing offences around the town, after high-performance vehicles were congregating at supermarket car parks, and driving a circular route that included High Street, Promenade Park and Mundon Road.
Officers also carried out additional speed checks in The Causeway and Fambridge Road, after new information from the public.
Six of the 51 will be prosecuted for using a mobile phone while driving, while a motorcyclist was reported for careless driving.
