POLICE have charged a 22-year-old man with assault by penetration in connection with an alleged sexual assault in Colchester earlier this month.
The man, from Frating, has been released on police bail to appear before magistrates in Colchester on August 5.
Two other men who had been arrested at the time have been released without charge.
Police were flagged down by a 17-year-old girl near the Vineyard Street car park on July 11 who alleged she had been attacked.
