Police are hunting vandals
The A12 has been reopened following an earlier police incident.
Both carriageways were closed near Colchester between Axial and the A133 because Essex Police had received reports about a man seen in the area and was concerned for his welfare.
Although the road has now reopened there are still delays in the area.
