POLICE were called last night to assist a man who had been spotted on the Orwell Bridge.
At just after 9pm officers, along with representatives from other emergency services including the Coastguard, were sent to the bridge.
A police spokesman said: “Police were contacted shortly after 9pm on Thursday following concerns for the welfare of a man seen on the Orwell Bridge.
“Officers arrived and found a man who was suffering from the effects of alcohol. He is now receiving specialist treatment.”
