The incident happened on Saturday afternoon at about 2pm when a man sexually assaulted a 22-year-old local woman in Childwell Alley, off Magdalen Street.
The attacker has been described by his victim as being Asian, aged 18 or 19-years-old, about 5ft 4ins tall and with short black hair.
He had a clean complexion and was clean shaven and wore a white cap, sunglasses, a light blue shirt and blue jeans. He also wore distinctive jewellery, including a gold shield-shaped pendant around his neck and a silver Celtic-design ring.
The attacker spoke with a high-pitch London accent.
