POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an armed robber made off with cash from a Clacton food store.
The man, who was white, of heavy build and around 5ft 7ins tall, brandished a black hand gun at around 1.35pm on Saturday at the Co-op in Coopers Lane.
Police said the robber had a fat face and stubble and was aged around 30-40 years old.
It is thought he may have been in the store for a while before the incident and police have appealed to anyone who may have seen him to come forward.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Det Con Richard Bell of Clacton CID on 01255 221312.
