POLICE believe a wanted armed robber may be noticeable by the amount of red dye on his hands and clothing.
The male suspect, described as white, aged in his late 20s, 6ft tall and of skinny build, is believed to have been covered in red dye from money stolen from the Co-op Society in Coopers Lane, Clacton-on-Sea.
Essex police say the man was wearing a white baseball cap, a three-quarter length blue or black jacket, blue jeans and black trainers, when he held up the Co-op with a knife, shortly before 10 pm on Friday night.
Ds Kevin Cooper of Clacton CID said: “Our suspect is believed to have been covered in red dye from some of the money he has stolen. It certainly would have gone over his clothing and his hands.
“We would like to hear from anyone who may know someone who has recently got dye stained hands or indeed anyone who recognises the man from his description to contact us.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Clacton CID on 0300 333 4444 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
