A TEENAGE attacker threw chips at a passerby before punching him in the face.
Police are investigating the incident which happened at about 8pm on Thursday outside the Newmarket Sports Centre in Exning Road, Newmarket.
A spokeswoman for the police told how a 43-year-old man was walking along the road when he was approached by a teenage man who threw chips at him and punched him in the face. The attacker then walked off.
The victim suffered a split lip. The attacker was white, aged 17 or 18 years old, about 5'7'' tall, of slim build. He wore a black hooded top, blue tracksuit bottoms and trainers and he was in the company of three females.
