Police investigate sportclub blaze

THE police are investigating after arsonists set buildings alight at a Suffolk sports club.The incident happened at Woolpit Cricket Club in Rectory Lane, Woolpit, near Bury St Edmunds, between 2am and 3am on Saturday.

The incident happened in Rectory Lane, in Woolpit, near Bury St Edmunds, between 2am and 3am on Saturday.

The blaze destroyed pitch maintenance items including hand tools, a hose, fertiliser, a scarifier and three lawn mowers.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk Police said tyre tracks were found at the scene and called on anybody with information to Pc Adam Fayers at Elmswell Police on 01284 774100 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
