IPSWICH police have issued an e-fit of a man they want to trace following a sex assault in Ipswich on an 18-year-old woman.

The incident occurred in Renfrew Road, Ipswich at about 9pm on Monday, June 1.

The woman was sitting on a bench near to the bus stop in Renfrew Road near to the junction with Colchester Road.

A man approached from Colchester Road and sat on the bench next to her.

He asked for her phone number and suggested they go to his property, which the female refused to do.

The man said his name was John and that he was going away the next day on holiday to Turkey for a month. He then put his hand on the woman's knee and touched her inappropriately before again asking for her phone number.

The female refused again and the male left the area, heading down Renfrew Road away from Colchester Road.

The male is described as of Mediterranean appearance, in his 30s, 5ft 10in to 5ft 11in tall, with short black hair and short facial hair. He spoke with an accent and wore a blue/white checked shirt, black trousers, socks and sandals. He was also carrying a black bag over his shoulder.
