POLICE have confirmed they are no longer treating the death of a woman in Essex last night as suspicious.

The woman was found at a house in Spring Rise, Chelmsford, but died later in hospital.

An Essex Police spokesman said: “Police were called by the ambulance service to an address in Spring Rise at about 8.40pm. Sadly the woman died an hour later in Broomfield Hospital.”

Neighbours spoke of their shock at the woman's death this morning.

One, who did not wish to be named, said the dead woman had lived in an upstairs flat in building for at least six years and was well-known in the area.
