POLICE in Essex are appealing for information after a window at a couple's home was shattered by airgun pellets.
The incident happened in St James Road, Bocking, at 2am on Tuesday.
A spokesman for Essex police said the couple were woken by two loud bangs and found that their bedroom window had smashed.
Officers later attending found the damage had been caused by airgun pellets.
Investigating officer Pc Andrea Ford said: “There were shards of glass on the window ledge and on the floor just inches from where the couple were laying in bed.
“From our house-to-house enquiries one neighbour recalls hearing a teenager laughing in the street at the time and then saw a small group of youngsters running off.”
Around £150 damage was caused to the window.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 0300 333 44 44.
