Three people have been arrested after police in Ipswich pursued a stolen Mini across the town yesterday evening.

At around 9pm last night, officers chased the vehicle from the Ravenswood area of the town until the car came to a stop near the play area on Clapgate Lane.

A Suffolk police spokesman said the car, a white Mini One, had stopped around 20 yards from the traffic lights after damaging a tyre on a piece of “road furniture”.

Three people, including the Mini’s alleged driver, were arrested by police with a police dog handler assisting at the scene.

A 17-year-old woman, 17-year-old man and 19-year-old man remain in custody for questioning in connection with the incident.
