POLICE officers were appealing to clubbers in Lowestoft last night for information following an alleged serious sexual assault behind Hush Hush nightclub on the Esplanade.

Leaflets were handed out earlier yesterday evening, with officers in the area between 2am and 4am talking to anyone who may have information.

Officers are continuing the appeal for witnesses following the allegation from a 36-year-old woman who said the assault happened behind the club, between the venue and the seafront, between 2.40am and 3.10am last Sunday morning, September 21.

The victim was on foot in the area when a man pushed her against a wall and subjected her to the sexual assault. The attacker is described as white with a tanned complexion, in his late 20s to early 30s, about 5ft 8ins to 5ft 10ins tall, with short spiky dark hair and he was wearing a long-sleeved white shirt and black trousers.

Detectives are also renewing appeals for anyone who was there between these times last week to call Suffolk police on 01473 613500 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
