Police carried out an extensive area search after a burglary was reported in Lavenham today.
Suffolk Constabulary was called to Water Street at 11.55am to the break-in, which it was thought had happened only a few minutes earlier.
The suspect was reported to be wearing a dark hooded top and dark clothing.
Details of what was stolen are not yet available.
Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area, or someone matching the description, is asked to call Suffolk police on 101 quoting CAD 130 of March 3.
