DETECTIVES have launched a hunt for a joyrider in Ipswich this afternoon after a stolen car was seen “kangarooing” down an estate.
Suffolk Constabulary's helicopter has been hovering over the Rushmere St Andrew area to try to locate a youth, thought to be between 16-18 years old, who took a Ford Fiesta last night before dumping it.
A police spokesman said the car had been recovered after it was spotted being driven along Caithness Close in a jerking fashion.
Sniffer dogs were also sent out to the incident but the driver has not been found.
He is described as being of mixed race with curly hair wearing a white t-shirt with a black pattern on and black jogging bottoms.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police on 01473 613500.
