POLICE are appealing for help in tracing a 37-year-old man who went missing from Carlton Colville, near Lowestoft, on Saturday.

POLICE are appealing for help in tracing a 37-year-old man who went missing from Carlton Colville, near Lowestoft, on Saturday.

Simon Bateman was last seen at about 5.10pm and was reported missing later on Saturday.

Mr Bateman is known to be vulnerable and police are asking anyone who may have seen him or may know where he is now to get in touch.

A police spokesman said: β€œHe appears not to have taken any personal possessions or money with him. His disappearance is said to be out of character, and although he does travel the country, often on foot, we are concerned for his welfare.”

Mr Bateman is described as white, 6ft tall, of slight build, with untidy mousy-coloured shoulder length hair. At the time of his disappearance he was wearing a navy blue fleece and jeans.

Anyone who may have seen him or may have information about where he is now is asked to call the duty sergeant at Lowestoft police station on 01986 835300.
