Police are appealing for information about a van driver following a collision in Clacton yesterday.

A man in his 50s was hit by a white van while walking across Hayes Road at around 7.20pm. The van was turning into the road from Carnarvon Road before hitting the man on his left side.

The van initially stopped but then drove off.

It is described as being the same size as a Renault Kangoo with no writing on the sides.

A driver of an unrelated van stopped to help the victim who was taken to Colchester hospital with minor injuries.

Police are particularly keen to speak to the driver of the van who stopped to help the victim.

Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact PC Alan Marks at Stanway Roads Policing Unit on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
