Police in Essex are looking for a man who was verbally abusive at a car wash.

The victim, a man, had gone to the car wash on Braintree Road, Witham to have his vehicle cleaned when the incident happened.

He pulled on to the forecourt of the car wash and was being directed in by staff when another man opened his driver’s door with force and began verbally abusing and threatening the victim.

The offender is believed to have been driving a silver Mercedes. He was white, aged in his late 40s to mid-50s, 5ft 9ins to 6ft tall, had an “East End” accent and a “gravelly” voice and wore a dark brown coat.

Witnesses to the incident, at 8.30am on March 14 should call Pc Kim Jones at Braintree on 101.
