A POLICE woman was hurt when a series of fights broke out in a Sudbury nightclub early today.
Officers were called to Eastern's in Station Road shortly before 2.20am to a report of two men being assaulted at the nightspot.
Paramedics were also despatched and one man, who was said to have been 'glassed', was taken to West Suffolk Hospital with facial injuries.
While police were there another fight began, with officers having to use Pava spray to help subdue one of those involved.
Two people were arrested in connection with this incident.
Despite the police presence, sporadic brawls then erupted. Two further night-clubbers were arrested as officers quelled the trouble. During the outbreak of violence, a woman police constable sustained hand and neck injuries.
A spokesman for Suffolk police said the officer's injuries were not thought to be serious.
