A POLICEMAN has been shot and killed during a training exercise today.
The tragedy happened at around 11.30am as the officer was participating in a pre-planned exercise with colleagues from Greater Manchester Police in Newton Heath, Manchester.
He suffered serious gunshot wounds to the chest and was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
It is not yet clear if the officer was shot accidentally by one of his own colleagues.
