Pool reopens after gas problems

THE swimming pool at Leiston Leisure Centre will reopen from tomorrow morning following repairs to the gas supply at the pool.

THE swimming pool at Leiston Leisure Centre will reopen from tomorrow morning following repairs to the gas supply at the pool.

The pool has been closed since April 8 when specialist contractors were called in to fix a problem with the gas pipe which meant the swimming pool temperature could not be maintained at a comfortable level.

The problem also affected the steam room and sauna, and meant that the sports hall has been without heating or hot water for more than two weeks.

“We are happy to say the swimming pool facilities at Leiston Leisure Centre are now up and running again, and I want to say a big thank you to all our customers for their patience while the pool has been closed.” said Simon Tappenden, manager for DC Leisure which runs the Suffolk Coastal District Council's leisure centres.

The pool will be open from 7am, for more information contact the Leiston Leisure Centre on 01728 830364.
