Port closed because of high winds

THE Port of Felixstowe has been closed due to high winds.Suffolk police said that, because space at the terminal was filling up rapidly, the port was considering putting Operation Stack into force.

Suffolk police said that, because space at the terminal was filling up rapidly, the port was considering putting Operation Stack into force.

The operation sees lorries queue up in one lane on the approach to the port in order to alleviate congestion to local traffic.
