A POSTMISTRESS said she feels in limbo after the future of a village's post office was put on hold.

Nacton Post Office, part of Orwell Stores, initially feared it was one of 67 post offices in east Essex and Suffolk which was to close this monthfollowing a consultation by the Post Office.

But following an intervention by Postwatch, the independent watchdog for postal services, a review is now taking place.

Postmistress Paula Warner said she was pleased the future of the post office was being considered.

She added: “We would also like to know what is happening. I do not know anything and we are just in limbo. It is not very good because we do not know if we are moving on or staying here.

“The post office is very important because without this the shop will go and there will not be anything.”
