TWO Suffolk Post Offices have been shortlisted for regional awards in a national competition.

Old Felixstowe Post Office and Rattlesden Post Office are both in the running for a number of awards in the 2009 People's Post Office Awards.

Their customers thought their post offices offered exceptional service and had an understanding of individual customer needs and requirements.

The businesses based in High Road, Felixstowe and St Nicholas Close, Rattlesden have both been shortlisted in three categories of best town and city post office, heart of the community and most innovative.

A Post Office spokesman said: “These awards are a great opportunity for our customers to tell us which branches are the very best in the region.

“Whether people visit to pay their bills or pick up their travel money, we're delighted that they feel the team should be recognised for their hard work and excellent customer service.”

The winners of the award for Best Post Office in the South East and East region will be announced at the end of April.

They will then go through to the national final on May 21 where the overall winners will be announced.

The awards are run in conjunction with NS&I
