A devastating fire would be enough to put anyone out of business for weeks.
Yet refusing to be beaten, the Fox Inn in Newbourne was already serving pints again less than 48 hours after a blaze forced it close.
It is the kind of spirit we would expect from a former Eat Suffolk Food and Drink Awards winner, whose owners’ first thought after fire struck was to get back to doing what it does best straight away.
But it also says something more about the determination of Suffolk’s pubs which, whatever the challenges thrown at them, are prepared to fight back.
Let’s raise a glass to everything the Fox Inn has been able to achieve.
