A PREGNANT young woman escaped serious injury after a crash this morning which closed the main A144 Halesworth to Bungay road.
The woman, who was driving a blue Ford Focus in the Bungay direction, was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for checks on her and her unborn baby.
The road was closed in both directions following an accident at about 7.50am this morning but reopened later this morning.
The other vehicle involved in the accident is a Land Rover which was heading towards Halesworth.
Police are trying to trace a silver car which was in the area at the time of the collision.
A police spokesman said: “It had just left the 40mph limit and was heading towards Bungay. We need the driver of this vehicle to come forward.
“We would also appeal to anyone who witnessed the accident or who was in the area at about 7.50am to contact police.”
