East Anglia is set to see 24 hours of heavy rainfall as the Met Office issues a yellow weather warning for the region.
The downpour is due to start around noon today and will continue through to tomorrow afternoon, with weather chiefs predicting localised flooding.
Jim Bacon, forecaster at Weatherquest, said today was likely to be “the wettest day in East Anglia for quite a while”.
Suffolk and Essex could suffer from 25-30mm of rain, Mr Bacon said, with the possibility of surface water building up on the roads.
Tomorrow will see a “very wet start” and strong winds but is anticipated to become dry by the afternoon.
