As if being toppled by a tank in front of millions was not enough . . . now George W Bush's head is going under the hammer.

The head - from a giant effigy of the US president -was created by north Suffolk-based Theatre of War group.

The papier-mâché sculpture was the showpiece of a demonstration against Mr Bush's London visit in November, broadcast all over the world, when it was knocked over by a cardboard tank.

All but the head of the 6m effigy now remains and Mell Harrison, a member of Theatre of War, said she was looking to find it a good home.

Mother-of-two Ms Harrison said she hoped to attract international interest when the head is auctioned.

But since the papier-mâché and chicken-wire creation was such an unusual lot for any sale, she had no way of predicting how it would fare.

Ms Harrison, 32, from Mettingham, near Bungay, said: "We're doing it as a bit of fun and as a way of getting our voices heard.

"We will auction it off in the best way. It may end up on eBay."

All proceeds from the sale will go towards human-rights groups.

David Gould, from Key's auctioneers, said it was very difficult to put a price on the head.

"They could get an enthusiast who was on the march who was willing to pay more for it as a collector's item," he said. "Some people might see it as a New Age antique."
